Water Lilies and Kingfisher

Another quiet morning on the lake.  We heard the loons this morning and caught a glimpse of them at some distance, but not close enough to a photo.

It is amazing how the lake changes from day to day.  Yesterday morning there were none of the white water lilies that I like so much.  This morning, there were dozens in various places.  Here are a few examples.

The kingfishers were quite active this morning.  It seems that I’m always chasing them down the shore ahead of me only to have them swoop back by me headed the other way without getting a decent photo.  This morning, one of them slowed down enough for me to get a few pictures.

By the time we got to the south end of the lake, the wind was coming up.  The wind turned to rain as we made our way back to shore.  Although a little wet, it was still great to be on the lake.
