We played tourist a bit this last weekend. We drove up Old Mission Peninsula to the lighthouse. We haven’t been there is some years. Here’s a couple photos of the lighthouse.

Old Mission Peninsula LighthouseThis lighthouse stands at the 45th parallel, half way between the equator and the north pole.
We’ve been to the cabin a couple times and not been able to get out on the lake due to the wind and rough water. This last weekend was finally our chance. We saw lots of water birds and some turtles.
It was great to see the loons again near the south end of the lake. I didn’t see any nesting area, but hope to see young loons soon.
