It has been three weeks since we’ve been up to OCC, but finally got there this weekend. We couldn’t have asked for better weather. Saturday morning we got back out in the kayaks and had very smooth water. There were lots of birds and turtles to watch. We only saw one loon and I managed to get a photo. Here are some of my favorite shots from the morning.

Thank you, Sandy.
Nice photos, Mark. We were up last week for six days. We had two loons in our bay that were noisily calling to each other and flapping their wings. Lots of mergansers and several swans, too. The weather wasn’t stellar, but we did get the dock in and rowed a bit in the row boat. We were there for indoor remodeling projects, so it was probably good that we weren’t tempted to stray from our chores with better weather.
Our weather was perfect Saturday morning. Very calm waters. I hope to see you and Ron up here this summer.
Love those turtle shots. What is the beautiful white breasted blue backed bird? Thank you for sharing your pics.
Thanks, Barb. I think the blue/white birds are lake Swallows. They were at the bird houses around the point to the south of us. I met the guy who’s dock is frequently under water in the spring. He a I’d that he has gotten them to come take feathers from his hand in years past.
