First Try at Time Lapse

I have enjoyed watching a variety of time lapse videos on Vimeo.  Here is an example of one.  I have downloaded some software that helps create these videos.  Take a look at my first attempt.

So, some technical details.  I took a photo of my back woods every 10 seconds for 45 minutes while the sun came up to the right.  I like the way the sun moved through the trees, slowly filling the area with light.  All images were brought into the software, some basic edits made, and the video formed from the images, all compressed into a few seconds.  I haven’t added any sound, but that’s something for the future.

I will continue to practice and will be on the lookout for scenic views.

  1. Cool! Did any of the software that you looked at align images? I’ve got a year’s worth of trailcam images that are roughly the same field of view, but of course the camera has moved around just a slight bit. Would love to find something that realigns them for a time lapse of the seasons.

    1. I’d be glad to take a look at some of it to see if it works. I’ll be up in another week or so if you want to bring me so images on a flash drive or something.
