Trip to Sedona – Cathedral Rock and Crescent Moon Picnic Site

The next morning we went in search of the Cathedral Rock.  There are two approaches to Cathedral Rock.  The more iconic trail, Cathedral Rock Trailhead, is very busy and parking is limited.  If you get there too late (early- to mid-morning) the road to the parking lot is closed.  The less-traveled trails are on the opposite side of Oak Creek.  We chose to hike along the creek from the Crescent Moon Picnic Site.  There were easy trails with some views of Cathedral Rock. There were also view on the road to the picnic site.

There were some very flat red rock formations along the creek.

  1. All of your Sedona images are so wonderful, Mark. It looks like a great trip. Next time you make it this far west, you are welcome here 🙂
