A neighbor of mine always has a great display of Christmas lights. The whole family spends the day after Thanksgiving putting up the lights, from the front lawn to the top of the house. The lights come down just as quickly after Christmas. So, the challenge for me is to find the right evening to photograph the lights. I want there to be just enough light in the sky to illuminate the scene, but dark enough so the lights will show up clearly. Oh, there should be a covering of snow on the ground, too.
Here is the result of this year’s effort. There were lot’s of different ways I could have photographed this scene, but I wanted the result to be an 8×10 print. We will come back to revisit this photo in another blog to discuss these options.
Very nice, Mark.
Just need some Northern Lights in the scene to really send it over the top !!
