A Trip to Sedona – Chapel of the Holy Cross

Continuing our trip to Sedona, we stopped at the Chapel of the Holy Cross.

The chapel was built in 18 months at a cost of $300,000, completed in 1956.  There is parking below the chapel with a steep walk up a paved roadway.  Or, for a small contribution, you can ride in a golf cart.

The views along the way to the chapel are wonderful.  The image below shows two buttes named the Two Nuns.  The third, smaller, butte is Mother and Child.

Another view. How would you like to live here?

Once inside the chapel, you see the large crucifix in the window overlooking the valley below.

The chapel is a beautiful and unique place in Sedona.  Adoration, confession, and mass are celebrated every Friday afternoon.
