Took a trip to Northern Michigan for a long weekend and made it to the tip of the Leelanau Peninsula (the little finger of Michigan’s lower peninsula). We were hoping to get in some cross country skiing, but there was very little snow in that particular area. So, a walk along the Lake Michigan shore was in order. There are some large rocks out in the water that were wearing their winter hats.
As the waves crash over the rocks, the water freezes into an ice cap over the rock. I especially like the icicles that formed a fringe around the rim of the cap. Mother Nature is very fashionable.
You spelled icicle wrong 🙂 Nice photo, though, looks like a walrus with a fringed cap.
I really don’t remember spelling it that way, but I’ve corrected the spelling. Thanks.
