We got out on the lake a couple weeks ago and found very calm waters. It was a great opportunity to photograph some reflections.

The water lilies were also in their peak.

This thistle was beautiful against the greens of the reeds and cattails.

This kingfisher pose in the top of the tree.

We didn’t see many turtles, but this little guy posed while I paddled only about 3 feet away.

The big surprise was seeing a row of 5 loons. We hadn’t seen much of any loons this year, so to see 5 was a real treat. The first image is just to show that there really were 5 of them. The next image clearly shows them to be loons.

We saw this beauty from half way across the lake, but it flew before we got very close. But, as we were approaching our shore, it flew back.
