We made it back to the north woods this weekend. I spent yesterday morning in search of fall color. Although there is some very nice color, it isn’t widespread, just a few trees here and there. Even without large expanses of color, I had a great time wandering around the dirt roads and small lakes in the area. Here are a few of my finds.
Just after sunrise, the fog was settled in the marshy areas. This was taken along US-31 between Grawn and Interlochen.

The morning sun along this bank of trees made them shine. This is a view of Lake Ann.

There were nice reflections at Sweet Lake.

So, the color is beginning, but the peak is still not here. I hope you can get out and enjoy the fall colors.
