I love impatiens, but they demand constant watering, especially if left in the sun. Our poor impatiens plant has at times been ignored as shown below.
However, when given a good drink, they revive themselves very quickly. I decided to set up the camera and do a timelapse video of the revival process. The video is only 4 seconds long, but compressed an hour of time into that 4 seconds.
I was amazed that after only 30 seconds, there was some recovery. (You really can’t see it in the video, but by looking at the full-resolution images I can see the recovery.) I should have taken photos more often than every 30 seconds so it would play out more slowly. I had no idea the impatiens would recover so quickly. This poor plant has been through this process several times and still comes back to its full glory.
So, go out and water your flowers. They will thank you for it.
